Silver Award | Girl Scouts

You have the power to improve your community through action

Ready to help your community and earn one of the highest awards in Girl Scouting? Cadettes can team up with a small group of fellow Girl Scouts or work on their own. To earn the Silver Award, you will research an issue you care about, make a plan to address it, and then take action to improve your community.

Important dates for current 8th grade Girl Scouts toggle arrow

Proposals must be submitted no later than April 1 of your 8th-grade year
Silver Award Projects must be approved by June 1 of your 8th-grade year

To be recognized during the current membership year at our Young Women of Distinction ceremony, the Silver Award project must be complete and the final report submitted by midnight, February 1 by emailing awards@girlscoutssoaz.org
The absolute final deadline to complete the Silver Award project and submit the final report is September 30, after completion of 8th grade; report must be emailed to awards@girlscoutssoaz.org

You can become a Silver Award Girl Scout if you:

Are in sixth, seventh, or eighth grade and/or are a registered Girl Scout Cadette
Have completed the Bronze Award, a Cadette Leadership Award, or a Cadette Journey
Complete the required Silver Award Online Training by requesting the assignment of the training, and download Cadette Workbook for Earning the Silver Award

Find an issue you care about.
Build your Girl Scout Silver Award team or decide to go solo.
Explore your community and think of how that issue affects your community.

Choose a Silver Award project that can lead to lasting change.
Develop your project and submit the Silver Award Project Proposal for approval.
Make a plan and put it into motion.
Reflect, share your story, and celebrate.
Complete and submit the Silver Award Final Report.
