Celebrity Chef Maria Mazon to judge specialty desserts at Cookies & Cocktails for Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona’s signature event tonight at Corbett’s
March 28, 2024 (Tucson, Arizona) -- Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona are excited to announce that award-winning celebrity Chef Maria Mazon, Executive Chef and Owner of BOCA Tacos y Tequila as well as owner of Sona Tortillas, will serve as judge for the dessert competition at Cookies & Cocktails tonight at Corbett’s.
The event is Thursday, March 28, 6 – 8 p.m. and features Girl Scout Cookie-inspired desserts from seven local restaurants including Bottega Michelangelo, Desert Diamond Casino, Gourmet Girls, The Hub, Noble Hops, Nook and Vero Amore. All will compete for the People’s Choice and Chef’s Choice awards. The event also features a Girl Scout Cookie-infused brew from Crooked Tooth Brewery, Ray Ray’s Sonoran Spirit Tea and a custom cookie-inspired cocktail from Corbett’s.
Tickets are still available and can be purchased online at or at the door. And fear not, the University of Arizona Men’s Basketball game will be on during the event – not even Girl Scout Cookies can keep us from following the March Madness action!
All proceeds from this, our largest fundraising event of the year, benefit the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona’s staff-supported programs. These programs serve girls impacted by the foster care and juvenile detention systems as well and our Girl Scouts Beyond Bars program and school-based programming. We believe that Girl Scout programs should be available for every girl in this community and events like this help make that happen.
