Council Leadership
A Message from Board Chair Sheila Kressler Crowley
As a lifelong Girl Scout, former Girl Scout parent, and longtime member of the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona Board of Directors, I have seen firsthand the lasting impact this movement has on girls and their families.
For more than a century, Girl Scouts has helped girls build courage, confidence, and character. Today, girls are growing up in a world that presents new challenges and opportunities, making our mission more important than ever. Girls need places where they can discover their strengths, develop leadership skills, build meaningful friendships, and learn that their voices matter.
Girl Scouting provides those opportunities. Together, our volunteers, donors, community partners, and families help ensure that every girl has the chance to thrive, lead, and make a difference in her community and beyond. I believe now more than ever that girls need Girl Scouts, and I am proud to support this movement that continues to prepare girls for a lifetime of leadership and service.

A Message from GSSOAZ CEO Kristen García Hernandez
For nearly two decades, I have had the privilege of serving Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona in a variety of roles, and I have seen firsthand the remarkable impact Girl Scouting has on girls, families, and our community. As a Girl Scout parent, troop leader, and CEO, I believe deeply in the power of this movement to help girls discover who they are and who they want to become.
Girl Scouting plays a vital role in youth development by meeting girls where they are. It provides friendship and a sense of belonging, encourages adventure and exploration, helps girls discover their passions, and gives them the confidence to be their authentic selves. Through fun, meaningful experiences, girls develop the skills, courage, and leadership abilities they need to thrive.
My greatest hope is that every girl in Southern Arizona has the opportunity to experience Girl Scouts. Whether she participates for one year, ten years, or a lifetime, Girl Scouting leaves a lasting impact—helping girls grow into leaders who are prepared to make a difference in their communities and beyond.
