Over The Edge 2022

Do you dare to be a Girl Scout?
We're calling on YOU to embrace your inner risk-taker, and bravely descend 17 stories in the biggest and most exclusive rappelling event in Southern Arizona!

In 2021, Over The Edge raised just a few thousand dollars short of $100,000 every dime of which stayed right here in Southern Arizona and went towards our staff-supported programs. These programs bring Girl Scouting to girls in low-income and high-need communities of Southern Arizona, giving them access to hands-on learning in STEM, the outdoors, life skills, service learning, self-esteem building, financial literacy, career exploration, and building sisterhood.

In the inclusive, all-girl environment of Girl Scouts, girls find a safe space to try new things, develop a range of skills, take on leadership roles, and just be themselves.... a go-getter, innovator, risk-taker, and leader!

By going Over The Edge, you make our staff-supported programs possible!

Over the Edge FAQs

Is there an age limit?

  • All ages are welcome! There is, however, a weight limit. Because of our safety equipment standards, those who rappel must weigh between 100 and 300 lbs.

How much do I raise?

  • Edgers raise $1,000 to rappel, with one exception. Active and retired military members and registered GSSoAZ volunteers can rappel for a discounted price of $800. Additionally, if you raise $1,200 or more, you can wear a GoPro as you rappel, so you can film and keep your Over the Edge experience forever!

When do I need to raise the funds by?

  • 80% of your minimum fundraising goal must be met by October 28th in order to guarantee a spot to rappel. Please reach your minimum fundraising goal in total by the event date, November 12th.

How do I reach my goal?

  • You can ask your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, classmates, etc. to make an investment towards girls in the community and help you reach your fundraising goal by donating on your page. Invite people to support you by using your Edger profile and share on your social media, too!
