Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona is committed to serving youth impacted by the foster care system. We provide programs in several local group homes. Program staff collaborates with youth to create a fun, safe, and empowering space while exploring topics such as self-esteem, self-worth, healthy relationships, leadership, and life skills.
For nearly two decades, Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona has been committed to ensuring no girl is left behind. We believe ALL girls deserve opportunities to challenge themselves; to grow courage, confidence, and character, while being supported by a sisterhood along the way.
EmpowHERment programs bring Girl Scouts directly into the community, at no cost to girls or their families. Led by trained and caring Girl Scout staff, these programs include school lunch introductory programs and after-school troops for grades K-6, EmpowHERment for teens in collaboration with the Pima County Juvenile Court for girls impacted by the juvenile justice and child-welfare systems, Girl Scouts Beyond Bars for girls 5-17 with incarcerated mothers in the Perryville Women’s prison in Arizona, and EmpowHERment at various youth serving community based organizations.
Each year, hundreds of girls discover new possibilities through EmpowHERment. As the need continues to grow, so does the importance of community support. Help ensure every girl has the chance to thrive. Support an EmpowHERment program today.
Focusing on the unique needs of youth impacted by or at risk for involvement with the juvenile justice system.
