Camp Whispering Pines

Camp Whispering Pines is located in the Santa Catalina Mountains on 16.5 acres of rolling ridgetop at an elevation of almost 8,000 feet. It offers an unforgettable mountain camping experience for all ages and abilities. An array of outdoor and indoor programming spaces are available on site, including an archery range, performance center, a large main lodge, and plenty of access to scenic hiking trails. Bungalows, cabins, and a large-group troop house are available for campouts. 

Camp Whispering Pines is available for reservation from the beginning of April through the end of May, and the beginning of August to the end of October. Reservations must be made up to 14 days in advance for overnight accommodations and archery, so that staff and facilitators can be arranged.

TO MAKE A RESERVATION:

  1. Click the button below to navigate to our reservation system.
  2. Select the Category drop-down to choose from areas and activities.
  3. Choose a Date and Duration of your reservation.
  4. Click Reserve next to the area or activity you selected.
  5. Repeat steps 1 - 3 until all of your desired areas and activities are in your Reservation on the right hand side.
  6. Select Checkout to provide reservation information and payment.

  • Large covered ramada with picnic tables, a fire circle, water spigot, and propane grill
  • Lit pathways
  • Shared stalled bathrooms located at the Performance Center, with two sinks and two composting toilets
  • Closest unit to the parking lot, with a longer walk to the bathrooms

Far Away

  • Sleeps 30
  • 5 open-air bungalows, each with a capacity of 6
  • Large covered ramada with picnic tables, a fire circle, water spigot, propane grill and electricity
  • Pathways are not lit
  • Bathrooms with four sinks and four composting toilets
  • Farthest unit from The Lodge, located almost ¼ of a mile from main camp, ideal for older Girl Scouts with camping experience looking for a more solitary visit

Angel Cabin

Echo Point Troop House

  • Front and back decks, with picnic tables and propane grill
  • Fire circle and water spigot

Saddle

  • Sleeps 16
  • Two cabins, each with a capacity of 8
  • Lights, electricity, and lit pathways
  • Large covered ramada with picnic tables, a fire circle, water spigot, propane grill, electricity, and an attached bungalow
  • Shared bathrooms located at the Performance Center, with two sinks and two composting toilets

Archery

  • Two-hour long sessions accommodate up to 25
  • Reservations for archery are subject to instructor availability

Hiking Trails

  • Access to multiple maintained hiking trails including Green Cathedrals (.5 mile), Palisades Loop (1 mile), Showers Point (1.5 miles) and Bigelow Trail Head (1.5 miles)


Please note, CWP has very limited wireless reception and no wireless internet, cable, or other technologies – the perfect way to escape to the mountains with zero distractions!
