Get ready for Jamboree!

Jamboree is an event that Junior-level Girl Scouts and up, plus volunteers, look forward to. Our council has a long history with this legacy event. Every two years, we throw a giant council-wide campout with 300 Girl Scouts at Roper Lake State Park.

Schedule

Troops arrive in the afternoon or early evening of a designated Friday in April.
Enjoy staff-led activities all day on Saturday and a giant dance party Saturday night on the Roper Lake island.
Sunday morning, you will cook and enjoy breakfast, and then pack up and head out. The state park requires checkout by 10:30 a.m.

Troop Responsibilities toggle arrow

Troops bring their own tent, camping gear, food and cooking gear, and activities for Friday evening.

Troops are also responsible for bringing at least one Troop Camping Certified Adult and one Certified First Aider, as well as adults, in accordance with the safety ratio. We recommend having more than one person trained for each! Visit our council calendar for training dates.

Paying for Jamboree toggle arrow

Paying for Jamboree registration, food, gear, and related training costs for your adults is a great use of your troop funds when your troop votes to do so!

Like any council program, Girl Scouts can also pay registration fees with their Cookie Dough.

For 2026, the Jamboree registration fee is $75 per person. Your campsite and Jamboree T-shirt are included in the fee. Adults per safety ratio are free. Adults over the safety ratio are $75 per person.

What Council Provides toggle arrow

Our staff organizes the event, provides activities and supplies all day Saturday, and hosts the Saturday night party.

We provide fishing gear, canoes, and all other program supplies for Saturday. We are on-site to support your troop's camping experience.

Please note: While we cannot keep the general public out of the fishing and picnic spaces, Council does buy out the entire park’s camping spaces. So we will not be camping with the general public.

Camping Experience at Roper Lake toggle arrow

Roper Lake is a beautiful and modern state park. You will be camping in tents at one or more sites, depending on your troop size. Trailers and RVs are not allowed. Male volunteers will share the staff loop in their own tents. Anyone with accessibility needs may request a limited number of cabin beds.

Brand-new bathrooms are located in both camping loops our troops will use. These bathrooms have flushable toilets and a limited number of showers.

There are also bathrooms adjacent to our program areas. Some are pit toilets while others are flushable toilets.

Troops will receive an activity list with descriptions in early December.

Your Girl Scouts will rank their top eight choices, and staff will schedule you for six activities. Your event registration date determines selection priority.
