BecomeAVolunteer

With the guidance and support of a volunteer, Girl Scouts can go as far as their imaginations will take them—and you can be there, right by their side. In fact, 95% of volunteers say they make girls’ lives better at Girl Scouts (and that makes them happy).

No matter which volunteer role you choose, you'll be helping girls to:

  • Discover a world full of fun experiences and new activities
  • Build confidence and make a whole bunch of new friends
  • Explore interests and learn new skills in a safe, all-girl environment

Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona relies on enthusiastic volunteers like you to lead our troops, help at camp, teach workshops, and more. We just couldn’t do it without you!

Our volunteers are a dynamic and diverse group, and there’s no one “type” of volunteer—whether you’re a recent college grad, a parent, a retiree, or a Girl Scout alum, we encourage you to get involved! Anyone with a sense of curiosity and adventure can help make Girl Scouting a powerful leadership experience for girls.

Volunteer with A Troop

As a troop volunteer, you'll not only help girls develop vital leadership skills, form lifelong friendships, and deepen their connection to their community—you'll also embark on your own leadership journey, and make amazing memories right alongside them!

Troop Leader or Co-Leader

Troop leaders and co-leaders work with other bright, creative people as a team to guide girls in growing life and leadership skills though teamwork and exciting activities.

Troop leaders and co-leaders coordinate and organize meeting activities, communicate with parents and families, and engage girls to create memories that will last a lifetime. They work together to share responsibility and leadership for the meeting activities and other troop needs.

Never been involved with Girl Scouts before? That's okay! You’ll explore and learn new things right alongside your troop, with plenty of support and resources from staff and fellow volunteers. No prior knowledge is required to be a stellar leader or co-leader!

Troop Product Manager

Troop Product Managers support girls as they become young entrepreneurs! Coordinate the annual Cookie Program or Fall Product Program at the troop level, set up booth locations, and manage inventory and money. Then watch the girls light up as they enjoy learning about marketing, money management, and business ethics—and get to use their hard earned funds for awesome Girl Scout adventures!

Splitting this role between two or more people can make the job easier—teamwork makes the dream work!

Troop Support Volunteer

Troop Support Volunteers support girls throughout their Girl Scout experience by working with the troop leaders as a team to coordinate troop activities and lend extra hands as needed. You'll assist with field trips or driving, chaperoning cookie booths, participating in outdoor adventures, planning meeting activities, lending your unique talents as girls work on badges related to your expertise, or other necessary tasks to keep the troop running oh-so-smoothly from week to week.

Become part of a Service Unit or Episodic Volunteer

Service Unit and Episodic volunteers provide vital service to Girl Scouts across our council by helping out with local programs and events, or supporting a region of our Girl Scout community. Join the fun—no special skills required!

Service Unit Volunteer

A Girl Scout area team is a community of volunteers and girls in a geographic area of our council. The area team is an essential support system that organizes training, mentorship, girl program, and membership support for volunteers, girls, and caregivers.

If you're an experienced volunteer, you can take it to the next level and support your Girl Scout community by getting involved in one of our many service unit roles.

Episodic volunteers play an important role in delivering fun, skill-building events for girls throughout Southern Arizona. You'll work with our Program staff to identify events that fits your interests, and can volunteer as little or as much as you like!
