The Volunteer Toolkit (VTK) is a digital resource to help leaders and co-leaders quickly and easily plan meetings and activities, keep track of important information, and communicate with families. Check out some of the toolkit’s top features, and watch the video playlist at the bottom of this page for a detailed walk-through.

Through the VTK, troop leaders can:

  • Plan the troop’s calendar year
  • Choose from dozens of Girl Scout badges and Journeys
  • Access readymade meeting plans and supply lists
  • Customize plans to support each troop's unique goals and needs
  • View the troop roster, and email parents with just one click
  • Record attendance and achievements
  • Easily locate resources, such as Safety Activity Checkpoints
  • Track troop finances
  • Renew girls’ membership
  • Support multi-level troops
  • Access 18 activities that now include a “Get Outside” option, which provides alternative outdoor options to complete each activity.


What About Parents?

Thanks to the VTK, parents can stay more connected than ever to their girl's Girl Scout experience! Through the VTK, parents can:

  • Access meeting information
  • Check for required supplies
  • Track which badges and Journeys their girl is working on
  • Stay in contact with troop leaders and co-leaders

Having Trouble With VTK?

Having trouble logging in or accessing the VTK? Try these four steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Check your web browser! Google Chrome is the recommended browser for the Volunteer Toolkit.
  2. Clear your cache. If you've logged into the VTK before and are trying to access updates, you may need to do some spring cleaning on your web browser to get everything up-to-date.
  3. Renew your membership. Leaders and co-leaders who have not yet renewed for the next Girl Scout year won't be able to access the VTK.
  4. Renew your background check. Leaders and co-leaders with an expired background check are considered "inactive" by our computer system, and won't be able to access the VTK until they complete a new background check.
