Over the Edge
In the Girl Scouts we build girls of courage, character and confidence who make the world a better place. Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona is looking for adventure seekers, adrenaline junkies and philanthropists to show they too have the courage it takes to descend down the fourth highest skyscraper in Tucson.
Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona is taking fundraising to new heights and looking for a few courageous rappellers for the inaugural year of the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona Over the Edge Fundraiser. On Saturday, March 28, 2015, Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona is looking for 76 “Edgers” to rappel down the 17 stories of 5151 E. Broadway Blvd.
You heard us correct! Do you have the Girl Scout Courage it takes to be an “Edger”?
To be an “Edger,” a rappeller can raise $1,000 through their own donation and pledges from family, friends and co-workers. All contributions are 100 percent tax deductible. Funds raised will go to support the Girl Scouts’ programming for more than 14,000 girls across Pima, Cochise, Santa Cruz, Greenlee, Graham and Yuma counties including field trips, sports, skill-building clinics, community service projects, social justice programs, cultural exchanges and environmental stewardships.
Don’t wait, click here to sign up, and make a $100 donation to yourself to complete your registration. Then use your personal website to start your fundraising and get ready to go “Over The Edge”! No experience necessary. Space is limited to the first fundraisers to meet the $1,000 goal!
The event will be facilitated by national Over the Edge organization who has facilitated more than 500 events around the world. Check out the Phoenix Special Olympics event that just happened. The event staffed with highly trained industrial ropes specialists to help rappellers safely enjoy their experience. Find out more about the organization here.
