Background:
Campus Girl Scouts is a branch of the Girl Scout Movement traditionally established to provide service to Girl Scout councils and the girls they serve. Campus Girl Scouts has been in existence in one form or another since the 1920’s. Campus Girl Scouts are recognized by Girl Scouts of the USA as adult Girl Scout volunteers. Campus Girl Scouts at the University of Arizona aims to bring together young adults who share a common mission of serving their community while forming relationships and skill sets that prepare them for the future. Founded in 2009, Campus Girl Scouts at the University of Arizona is the result of collaboration between University students and Sahuaro Girl Scout Council to create a network of young women dedicating their time and skills to Girl Scouts in Southern Arizona.
Mission:
Our mission is to serve the community while promoting and fostering leadership, strength of character and life skills to aide young adults for the future. While our primary goal is to involve young women in volunteering with Girl Scouts, we also look for other ways to give back in the community.
As we are affiliated with Girl Scouts of the USA and provide service to Girl Scouts in Southern Arizona, we uphold the core values of Girl Scouts including the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
Membership:
In order to be a member of Campus Girl Scouts, one must attend a college, university or institution of higher learning, specifically University of Arizona or Pima Community College and believe in the principles of Girl Scouting.
