Registration Procedures
Adult training courses are available to all adults as well as girls 14 years of age or older who are registered with Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona. Pre-registration is required for all training courses to help “use our resources wisely”.
Please register online for all trainings at least two weeks before the scheduled course. Course registrations are evaluated seven business days prior to the course date and, in most cases, courses with less than the stated minimum participants will be canceled. Only those who have pre-registered will be notified of the course cancellation.
Girl Scout Activity Requirements (what training you need for what activity)
Registration and Forms
To register for a training course, please login to our new online registration site here.
If you are registering by mail, fax, or at Council offices, you will need to complete one registration form for each individual training course to be attended. Faxed registrations will only be processed if credit card information is provided. Registration fees can be paid with cash, Visa or MasterCard or Discover. Check, or money order at the front desk of the Resource Center. Please don’t send cash through the mail. The best way to register for trainings and programs in online.
Refunds
In the event that council cancels a course, registrants receive a full refund of fees paid. If a trainee cancels their registration, fees will be refunded excluding nonrefundable deposits, only if notice of cancellation is received in writing at the council seven business days prior to the class date. Refunds will not be given if a class is not attended. First Aid and CPR courses registrations and refunds are handled through P2Preparedness.
Bringing Children
Baby-sitting services are not provided at council-sponsored training courses. Children can become restless and are a distraction to the other participants. It is not acceptable to have young, unsupervised children in corridors or other rooms of the council buildings. If childcare is unavailable or becomes unavailable, contact the training department to reschedule the course to a different time. Adults bringing children will be asked to leave and reschedule.
What to Bring
For all training courses offered through Sahuaro Girl Scout Council, we recommend that you come prepared with pen or pencil, paper for note-taking, and your enthusiasm! You may also want to bring a closed-container beverage (such as a water bottle with a cap) and a snack. For all-day training courses, you may wish to bring a sack lunch to enjoy with other leaders during the break.
First Aid and CPR courses have no required items beyond what is recommended for all courses above.
Cancellations
If you are unable to attend a course for which you are registered, please cancel your registration by filling out the cancellation form available on the forms page. Cancellation form may be faxed to 520-795-3318, mailed to Sahuaro Girl Scout Council, 4300 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85711, or dropped off at the front desk of the Resource Center. Cancellation form must be received at least seven business days before the date of the session. This is “honest and fair,“ “friendly and helpful,“ and “considerate and caring” as the trainer will know the number of participants to expect and other volunteers may wish to attend what otherwise appears to be a full course.
Arrival Time
Out of respect, please plan to arrive 10 minutes before the training course is scheduled to begin to check in and receive materials. All courses will start promptly at their scheduled time. Completion of the class to receive certification requires on-time arrival. If a participant arrives more than 10 minutes after the course begins or leaves more than 10 minutes before it ends, the trainer has been authorized not to sign that participant’s training card, will advise the participant to retake the course, and course credit will not be entered into our computer system.
