Leadership to me is the ability to inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more.
Wanda F Moore is a life long Girl Scout. Growing up in Brunswick, Georgia, Wanda joined a Girl Scout troop at her elementary school and quickly became a champion of Girl Scouting’s mission of making a difference in the world. Wanda decided she would first start by making a difference in her family’s life. She promised her mother, who was raising a family of six on her own, she was going to get an education, a good job, and then assist her mom financially and give her some of the things in life she could not afford while raising all her children. With a winning spirit and giving attitude, Wanda met all her goals and promises, both to herself and to her mother. Today, Moore is the President of Moore & Associations, the Arizona State Coordinator of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc, and serves(d) on multiple committees including the UA Sarver Heart Advisory Board, Chair of the Minority Outreach program for the Sarver Heart Womens Education Committee and Girl Scout of Southern Arizona’s nominating committee. Wanda acknowledges she has been entrusted with much. She is therefore committed to give back to others as she deeply believes one person can make a difference if we would just reach back! She advises today’s girls to dream big and keep everything in perspective, “rely on your own strength of body and soul. Stay focused and steer your own ship, and remember that you must be willing to do what you ask of others. Reach above the goal set. Energy, confidence, determination with the right motive, are the foundation for a good leader.”
Inspiration
From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required, and from the one to whom much as been entrusted even more will be demanded. I am committed to give back to my family, church, and community by utilizing the gifts, talents, resources and skills from which I have been entrusted. I make a promise and I keep it!
