On Leadership
It does not mean being a “bossy pants.” It means having vision of how something can be or a goal and engaging all necessary people to in vision in recognizing and achieving the vision or goal. A good leader makes ALL feel important to the process and remains positive even in the face of skepticism. She changes her approach or even goal as she gets new information or input. She gets feedback from others and assures that all who are affected feel heard and involved. She gives the group credit for any achievement.
Advice for girls
You can change and impact your world even in small and meaningful ways. Do not be content with “what is” if there may be a better way. Some of greatest people lead in small ways or by example. I think of Rosa Parks who refused to move to the back of the bus. If you have an idea, share it with enthusiasm. Do not be fearful of taking risks. Do not be frustrated by setbacks, but look at these events as opportunities to approach a situation differently.
