On Leadership

Don’t be afraid to make the tough decisions, even if they are unpopular. If your decision is wrong, admit it and learn from it. If you are right, give credit to those who helped you along the way.

Kelle Maslyn was a Girl Scout in Litchfield Park, Arizona where she earned the prestigious Gold Award, the highest Girl Scout honor. Today, Maslyn continues to utilize and hone her leadership skills developed through Girl Scouting through her role as Corporate Affairs Manager with Comcast Cable. To Maslyn Girl Scouting was an invaluable experience. Not only did she learn how to lead by bringing people together, she drew inspiration from strong women who came before her, particularly the words of former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, “You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.” Maslyn hopes to share her experiences with others and provide opportunities for growth both personally and professionally. To the future female leaders of our community she shares, “Being a leader can give you the best feeling in the world. When you lead a person or group and see the transition that can happen because you cared- wow, what a powerful emotion that creates!”
