Girls fully participate and contribute to our society. We help build the inner foundation that makes girls whole. We are leaders. Technicians for Sustainability came to Girl Scout Camp on Tuesday and helped girls understand why we need to save water. Leona talked about where our water comes from, the aquifer, the water cycle and how doing silly things like leaving the water running while brushing our teeth is depleting our water source. The girls had a discussion about how they
could save water and were very honest about wasting water themselves! Then, TFS took the girls outside to show them our new cistern that will harvest rainwater from the Bunkhouse! After a brief introduction to how it all works, the girls got to help install it! Very cool way to learn about the Wonders of Water!
Due to a TON of snow on the mountain, we had to move our Stewards of the Mountain program to the Hacienda this weekend. We had about 75 volunteers come out and help do 10 different projects from digging in the pond to landscaping and even trash duty! Thanks to all of our Girl Scouts who came out to help and to our Disney Give a Day Get a Day volunteers for all their hard work! You guys all rock! Here are some pictures from this weekend!

Celebrate National Wildlife Week by doing what comes naturally. Whatever you do—at home, school or play—do it outdoors and have fun! Climb trees, chase butterflies, dig in the dirt and celebrate nature. You’ll become healthier, happier and more connected to the world around you.
Over the past week , we have been watching some interesting legislature pass through the state. Is it fair to give Arizona Eagle Scouts reduced price fishing licenses but not Gold Award recipients? Apparently the State of Arizona thinks so. Read the full article in the Arizona Daily Star for the scoop on what went down this week.
The club is designed for children ages 8 to 18. All kids in this age group with an interest in birds are invited to join in the trip. This trip will be a half-day of birding in local Tucson parks and birding hotspots. We’ll look for wintering species both common and rare, with emphasis on finding rarities that have been reported recently. We will end the trip at Reid Park with a lunch meeting in one of the ramadas.Contact the leaders for more info.
