Alright ladies, GSUSA, awesome as they are, has got the site up for recording your projects and Impact Metrics! Yay! AND it isn’t through an outside company anymore, its right on the GSUSA webpage!

It’s super simple, just read the directions. You can find the site here: http://www.girlscouts.org/forevergreen/

For you Journey 2 ladies: I will be entering your Action Project info for this go round, and then you guys can enter it for your next Eco-Action Projects :)

I’m going to an awesome Action Project tomorrow morning with Troop 117 who is creating Green Space for Centennial Elementary School! I’ll post video later this week so you can all see the hard work they put into their project.

We will be at the USGBC’s Third Annual Membership Mixer and Vendor Fair at UA’s College of Architecture & Landscape Architecture on Wednesday, September 9th from 4:30-7:30. The Branch’s annual vendor fair is a great opportunity to network with other like-minded professionals, visit with local and regional service providers, product manufacturers, and distributors, and generally learn how to be more sustainable in our finite world.

Event Charge: $10 for Members, guests and public and $5 for Full Time students

Met with Sarah from Tucson Botanical Gardens today and I think this will be a really great partnership! They have each Journey theme on their grounds, and encompass everything we are trying to do for Girl Scouts Forever Green! I look forward to all the great projects that we can do with them!

Also looking into helping plan an Earth Day event with Bookman’s at the Gardens so look for more information coming soon on that!

"We've Always Been Green" Video Contest

Monday, August 24th, 2009

We are holding a “We’ve Always Been Green” themed video contest! This might be a really fun way for the girls to play with what they’ve learned so far. Videos should be no longer than 5 minutes long and be written around the theme of “We’ve Always Been Green”. Those are the only 2 rules so let your girls be creative and have fun!! Submit them to me by September 30th on DVD or you can just send me the video file. I will post them on our Council YouTube page for people to vote on. I haven’t determined what the prize for the winners will be yet, but I will make it as exciting as possible :) This isn’t required- just something fun! (and it will get the rest of Tucson excited about our green initiatives and the Journeys!)
