Wonders of Water wrapped up with a parent ceremony on Friday afternoon! Every Camper earned 4 badges this week and learned tons of new skills from archery to kayaking. We also got to try our hands at snorkeling! How cool is that? Next week, we will w
elcome 58 new Campers to our Express Yourself Art Sampler Camp where we will draw, paint, learn about ceramics and create our little hearts out! I can't wait to see what all of our Campers come up with! I'm Excited!! Are you?
We're having lots of fun at Camp this week! I was too busy at the beginning of the week to get pictures and film taken of archery, climbing on the rock wall or even Breakers! But we have lots of pictures now! I'll try to be better about taking pictures next week and I
'll keep my Flip on me at all times, I promise! I think next week it might be fun to have some of our Campers and PA's be guest bloggers and talk about their experiences at Camp too! (Actually, I guess we could do that today huh?) Enjoy the pictures!
Dude! We hiked all the way out to the pond and it was all dried up! It just had a layer of slime on it… ewww. But it was fun to look at for a little while. Makes you think about all the little animals that live at the Hacienda. I wonder where they are getting their drinking water from if our ponds are all dried up? I wonder if they all travel over to the Golf
Course to get their water? I wonder where we would have to get our drinking water from if we depended on the water at the Hacienda. Both ponds were dried up and so we ended up at the pond behind the Straw Bale house where there was a really neat layer of some organism with cool things growing on it. Sweet!
I'll try and upload some pictures a little later!
Miss Marissa or Young Rembrandts of Tucson is here at Camp teaching the girls that anyone can draw! Using our theme of Wonders of Water, the g
irls are drawing adorable fish with snorkels! They are all turning out pretty incredible too! Here's some pictures of the art in progress:
Technicians for Sustainability came to Girl Scout Camp on Tuesday and helped girls understand why we need to save water. Leona talked about where our water comes from, the aquifer, the water cycle and how doing silly things like leaving the water running while brushing our teeth is depleting our water source. The girls had a discussion about how they
could save water and were very honest about wasting water themselves! Then, TFS took the girls outside to show them our new cistern that will harvest rainwater from the Bunkhouse! After a brief introduction to how it all works, the girls got to help install it! Very cool way to learn about the Wonders of Water!
