TUCSON- Girl Scouts in Southern Arizona are about to make history by participating in a pilot program with Little Brownie Bakers, the same company that brings you Girl Scout cookies, to sell two varieties of Girl Scout Snack Bars. Tagalongs and Double Dutch Snack Bars are packed with wholesome ingredients like hearty rolled oats, crispy cereal flakes and chewy granola and are perfect for on the go snacking!
Girl Scouts will be taking orders for snack bars from September 28th to October 7th and the snack bars will be delivered at the end of October. There will be no booth sales or other direct sales. This unique pilot program offers girls the chance to participate in very real market research. The simplified sale is designed to gauge customer feedback and to involve girl sellers as much as possible. In fact, Little Brownie has designed a website specifically for feedback and comments. Through the sale girls will earn extra funds for troop activities and will earn a patch for their participation. Girls will also practice the 5 skills learned through the Cookie Program: goal setting, decision management, money management, people skills and business ethics. “The sale reinforces skills learned through the Cookie Program and allows girls to tryout out their hand at marketing a different product,” notes Melissa Varga, Product Specialist. “We’re excited to see our saleswomen in action!”
Be among the first in the country to try these delicious snack bars and to decide if the bars should be introduced throughout the country. Snack bars are sold by the box for $4.00, and each box contains five snack bars. Tuck them in school lunches, in your gym bag, and in your briefcase. Product samples will also be on hand at the Girl Scouts Thin Mint Sprint 5k on September 29th at Brandi Fenton Park. Don’t delay, as these bars are sure to go quick! Help Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona make history in this pilot sale and determine the future of these delicious bars!
Nutritional Information: each Bar has 4g of protein, 4g of fiber and 110 calories. Bars contain no high fructose corn syrup, no trans-fat, and no artificial colors.
