Girls giving back

This weekend a fellow Girl Scout and I went to Tucson to help Stuff the Bus at a Tucson store. We felt the need to travel that distance because last year, our town was hit by the Monument fire and the good citizens of Tucson helped us out a lot. While we are at the location to gather supplies (school supplies) we encountered people that couldn’t help because they themselves were having a hard time getting what they needed for their children. What really hit us was a man that, when told about the Stuff the Bus, looked at us and asked “Why can’t their parents buy this for their kids?” We had our jaws dropped to the ground.
We worked with a realtor and she told us how happy the kids are that recieve the supplies. The kids are happy to be getting what is needed for their education. They aren’t sticking out by being that kid that is “too poor to buy a backpack.” Many donations were made, our favorite was an easel that was both a blackboard and a dry erase board. It was totally awesome that someone would contribute an item that is so fundamental to learning.
Oh! And when we got there, there was this sweet little local Daisy that was totally impressed by the patches my friend and I had on our vests. I even let her put mine on to see how she liked it!
