What can 100 cookies do?

What Can a Cookie Do?  How about … What can 100 cookies do?!?!

Brownie and Daisy Troop 1011 decided to choose to local organizations to focus on for their “Gift of Caring” for the 2012 cookie season, Casa de los Ninos and The Marana Food Bank.

The 14 girls in this troop had so much support and worked many, many, MANY booths, that they ended up being able to also celebrate 100 years of girl scouting in a BIG way!

Troop 1011, had enough money and cookies donated to be able to donate 100 boxes of cookies to their recipients for the Gift of Caring.

Casa de los Ninos will receive 50 boxes to share with the children who are residing there.  And Marana Food Bank will also receive 50 boxes to distribute among the families who benefit from the donations.

The girls also plan on visiting The Marana Community Farm to work and learn more what the food bank does as they complete their Journeys:  It’s your Story– Tell it! and It’s your World Change it!

In this picture is Troop 1011, with the 100 boxes of cookies, ready to be donated.   In the background is the quilt that they made, after guest Ellen Pott came and visited the troop and they earned their quilting badge.  This picture was taken on March 12th, the 100th birth date of girl scouts.

So “Happy 100 years Girl Scouts”!!!

We celebrate with you all!
