Celebrate Girl Scouts Centennial in Style at the All That Glitters is Green Gala!

TUCSON- Who says birthday parties are only for kids? The Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona are gearing up for a night of glitz and glamour as they celebrate the organizations’ 100th birthday in grand fashion with the All that Glitters is Green- Centennial Gala on March 24, 2012 at Casino del Sol Resort and Spa.

In addition to a fun-filled night of great food and dancing, the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona will highlight the contributions its alumnae have made toward making the world a better place. Special homage will be paid to the Committee of 100 Women- women from the community who exemplify the meaning of leadership and who are role models for girls striving to become the leaders of tomorrow.

“This is a special time in our movement” notes Debbie Rich, CEO of the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona. “Not only is it our 100th Anniversary, 2012 has also been declared the Year of the Girl by Girl Scouts of the USA. We are more committed than ever to ensuring all girls grow up confident in themselves and their abilities to lead. Please join us and celebrate Girl Scouts past and kick off the next 100 years of the Movement!”

The evening’s events will begin at 6pm and include a silent auction, gourmet fare courtesy of renowned Chef Jason Jonilonis, and musical entertainment featuring the smooth grooves of Anna Warr and the band GiantBlue. Bobby Rich from the Morning Mix and KVOA’s Lupita Murillo will share Master of Ceremony duties. Proceeds from the Gala will provide financial assistance for program opportunities for the 14,000 girls served throughout the council’s jurisdiction.
