FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Move over Thin Mints, the Girl Scouts have added a new addition to this year’s cookie line up! In honor of the Girl Scouts’ 100th Anniversary in March the Girl Scouts have added Savannah Smiles, a lemon cookie, just in time for the beginning of America’s most beloved annual Girl Scout tradition.
Little Brownie Bakers, the company manufacturing the cookie, describes the new creation as “cool and crisp, with just the right number of lemon chips to deliver tiny bursts of flavor.” The Savannah Smiles cookie plays special homage to the birthplace of Girl Scouts. Juliette Low founded the all girl organization in 1912 in Savannah, Georgia.
The Girl Scouts have been selling cookies as a fundraising effort since 1917. With every Cookie season another generation of girls learns to set goals, to make a plan, and to manage money. With the Girl Scouts’ 100th anniversary quickly approaching in March, it’s a great opportunity to give the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona an early birthday present by buying a box of cookies or two from girls in your community. Will the Savannah Smiles give Thin Mints a run for most popular cookie? Give them a try and let your taste buds decide!
Cookie season kicks off on January 21st when girls can begin selling cookies door to door with cookies in hand. Girl Scout cookie booth sales start on February 2nd. All cookies are $4.00 per box. To find the cookie booth nearest you simply visit http://cookielocator.littlebrownie.com.
