New Travel Opportunities for Girls!

We have exciting new destinations that have been posted to our website for younger girls to explore horseback riding adventures, science and service projects at Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, canoeing the Colorado and Upper Missouri River, time in Atlanta celebrating the 100th Anniversary and older girl travel to Europe and locally giving back with Habitat for Humanity. These destinations are open for late applications that are due Feb.17 to council/event sponsors. Destinations that are not marked FULL on the destinations website in late January will be open for late applications past the Feb.17 deadline.

Happy Trails:

  • Explore the Appalachian Mountain foothills on horseback.
  • Ages 11-18

Paddle Happy in the Southwest:

  • Follow the Lewis and Clark trail along the Missouri River and experience the splendor and glory of nature from a Canoe
  • Ages: 12-17

Wyoming Wildlife:

  • Work with and learn from field instructors at the Teton Science Schools and women leaders from the Rocky Mountains to explore Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Give back through science and service and explore careers that promote sustainable ecosystems.
  • Ages 13-15

Challenge to the 100th:

  • Spend 10 days in Atlanta participating in a variety of challenge course activities, bonding with other Girl Scouts, and celebrating the 100th anniversary.
  • Ages 13-17 (Grades 7-11th)

London to Lucerne:

  • Spend 10-14 fabulous days seeing the best of Europe – London, Paris and Lucerne.
  • Ages 14-18

Equestrian Gymnastics:

  • Discover the sport of vaulting as you learn tricks on horseback.
  • Ages 14-18

Girl Scouts Make the World a Better Place:

  • Team up with Habitat for Humanity to help a family in need.
  • Ages 16-18

 

Timeline reminder:

  • Jan. 16            All applicants notified of their status for “early” applications
  • Feb. 1               All deposits holding a participants’ spot are due to event  sponsors for “early” applications
  • Feb. 17             “Late” applications received by event sponsors
  • Mar. 2              All additional applicants notified of their status | Participant status report to GSUSA by event sponsors
  • March 16         All “late” applicants’ deposit due to event sponsors (Please note that there might be some destinations that will extend the deadline if the event is not FULL)
