The Cochise Amateur Radio Association (CARA) sponsored the annual scouting activity called Jamboree On the Air (JOTA) on Oct. 15 open to all the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Cub Scouts in the area. During JOTA, Scouts had the opportunity to communicate with other Scouts and Guides all over the world by means of amateur radio contacts (voice and digital). Voice contacts were logged from places like California, Mexico City, and Texas. Digital contacts were logged from Ireland, Africa, and Indiana. We had three times the number of people this year than we did last year. Participants will receive the 54th JOTA patch.
