Can I just say that the camp changed my life? I cannot go outside and look at things the same way! Thank you for an amazing experience. This is so sappy, but I had tears in my eyes when my plane took off from Tucson and I could see the mountains disappearing behind us. What I was blessed to see and learn was so wonderful. Thanks for opening my eyes. My family has been excited to as I have shared with them and our son loves the planesphere.
I wanted to report to you that I am entertaining starting an astronomy club at our elementary school. It would be facilitated by girl scouts in the sense that when we do the stations, they will help the groups. I will have trainings with them beforehand. I will do the kind of groups I presented at camp a math objective in each group, stories, music. My vision is for it to just excite the kids! Having the girl scouts help teach will encourage them as leaders in science and hopefully make them endeavor to explore more in the areas of STEM.
Thank you and have a wonderful day! Tell the grad students and Larry I say hello too!
