My name is Lindsey Rothe and I am emailing you in regards to a new Language and Literacy test that is being developed at the University of Arizona. I am the Project Assistant and I am working under Dr. Elena Plante who is the co-principal investigator for this new study. We are working closely with Western Michigan University. The reason I am emailing you is because we need a number of children with typical development to participate in this study. Getting girls to participate has proven some difficulty, so what better of an organization from which to recruit than a girl scout troop? We need children between the ages of 6:0 and 18:11 years of age, who have not yet graduated from high school, to participate. The child and her parents will get monetarily compensated for their time. So what I am asking is would your troops be willing to participate and possibly lend us a site to conduct the testing? Testing only takes about 60 to 90 minutes and will be performed by licensed speech-language pathologists. I am willing to come and meet with anyone to discuss this test in further detail and provide all the necessary forms. This would be a great opportunity for us as well as the girls in your troop to have some fun and make some money! Thank you for your time.
