TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) – Local Girl Scouts are joining the ranks of Tucson’s elite fire fighters from Northwest Fire District and Tucson Fire for Camp Fury.
It’s a four day, three night, intensive training experience that’s taking the girls to new heights. Just ask Kaela Boswell, “I’m nervous because I’ve never climbed a 150 foot ladder before.”
But Kaela conquers her fear and climbs. Every step builds her confidence that’s catching on with her fellow Girl Scouts like Daniela Griffin, “it may be high and a lot of people are afraid of heights but I’m a little nervous about it but I’m very prepared to do it.”
There’s more than ladders at this four day immersion camp. There’s also rappelling from a six story building, “in Girl Scouts we go around and sell cookies,” says Kaela Boswell with a laugh, “and we try to get a certain badge or get up to a higher level, we don’t do this stuff!”
They push themselves to the limit and discover there are no boundaries as to what they can accomplish, “it has been interesting,” says Daniela, “I’ve had a really great time learning all this new stuff.”
